Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: August 9, 2026
1. Scope
These Terms & Conditions govern the travel planning and advisory services provided by Independent Travel Advisor Cynthia de Jong, an independent affiliate of Fora Travel ("Travel Advisor," "we," "our," or "us").
These Terms apply exclusively to travel planning and booking services provided through Cynthia de Jong's affiliation with Fora Travel.
Cynthia de Jong is also the owner of Boundless Territories Travel, an independent travel business registered in the Netherlands. Unless specifically stated otherwise, services provided under Boundless Territories Travel are governed by separate terms and conditions and are not covered by this agreement.
2. Relationship with Fora Travel
Cynthia de Jong operates as an independent travel advisor affiliated with Fora Travel, a host travel agency headquartered in New York, United States.
Fora Travel serves as the Agency of Record for reservations made through its supplier network. Travel bookings may therefore be processed by Fora Travel and/or the applicable travel supplier, including but not limited to hotels, resorts, cruise lines, tour operators, transportation providers, and other travel service providers.
While Cynthia de Jong personally provides travel planning, destination expertise, itinerary development, and client support, the actual travel services are supplied by independent third-party travel providers.
3. Planning Fees
Professional travel planning requires considerable research, itinerary development, supplier coordination, and reservation management.
Planning fees compensate the Travel Advisor for these professional services and are separate from the cost of travel.
Planning fees are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Depending on the client's location and the booking arrangement, planning fees may be invoiced either:
- through Fora Travel, or
- through Boundless Territories Travel, Cynthia de Jong's independent travel business.
The invoicing entity will be clearly communicated before payment is requested.
4. Currency
All travel reservations booked through Fora Travel are quoted, confirmed, and processed in United States Dollars (USD).
Planning fees may be invoiced in either:
- United States Dollars (USD) when billed through Fora Travel; or
- Euros (EUR) when billed through Boundless Territories Travel.
The applicable currency depends on factors including, but not limited to:
- the client's country of residence,
- the invoicing entity,
- applicable tax regulations,
- and the nature of the services provided.
Where currency conversion is required, exchange rates are determined by the payment processor or financial institution at the time of payment.
5. Taxes
Planning fees invoiced through Boundless Territories Travel may be subject to applicable Dutch or European tax regulations, depending on the client's location and the nature of the services provided.
Planning fees invoiced through Fora Travel are subject to Fora Travel's invoicing procedures and applicable tax requirements.
Travel prices quoted by suppliers may or may not include applicable taxes, government fees, or resort fees as specified by the supplier.
6. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging our services, paying a planning fee, requesting a proposal, authorizing us to make a reservation on your behalf, or otherwise proceeding with any travel arrangements through us, you acknowledge and agree that:
-
you have read and understood these Terms in their entirety;
-
you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms;
-
you are at least eighteen (18) years of age and legally authorized to enter into this agreement; and
-
you accept the terms and conditions of all travel suppliers associated with your booking.
If you are making a reservation on behalf of additional travelers, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on their behalf and that all travelers are bound by this agreement.
7. Nature of Advisory Services
The Travel Advisor acts solely as an independent travel advisor and intermediary between the Client and the travel suppliers.
Our services may include, but are not limited to:
-
destination consultation;
-
custom itinerary design;
-
hotel and resort recommendations;
-
cruise recommendations;
-
transportation coordination;
-
activity and excursion recommendations;
-
travel logistics planning; and
-
ongoing travel support before and during the trip.
We do not own, operate, control, or manage any airline, hotel, cruise line, tour operator, transportation provider, or other travel supplier, and all such suppliers remain solely responsible for the travel services they provide.
8. Travel Quotations and Pricing
All travel quotations, itineraries, proposals, and estimates provided by the Travel Advisor are prepared in good faith based upon information available at the time they are issued.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, all quotations are subject to:
- availability at the time of booking;
- changes in supplier pricing;
- currency exchange fluctuations;
- changes in taxes, government-imposed fees, or surcharges;
- fuel or transportation surcharges;
- supplier promotions or restrictions; and
- correction of pricing or typographical errors.
- There will be a fee for credit card payments.
- A processing fee, for planning fees processed by FORA.
Submission of a quotation or itinerary does not constitute a reservation, nor does it guarantee availability or pricing.
Travel services are confirmed only after the applicable supplier has accepted the reservation and any required deposit or payment has been successfully processed.
The Travel Advisor cannot guarantee that quoted prices will remain available until a reservation has been confirmed.
9. Reservations and Supplier Terms
All travel reservations arranged through the Travel Advisor are subject to the individual terms, conditions, policies, and contractual requirements of the applicable travel suppliers.
Such suppliers may include, but are not limited to:
- airlines;
- hotels and resorts;
- cruise lines;
- tour operators;
- destination management companies;
- vacation rental providers;
- transportation providers;
- rail operators;
- activity and excursion providers;
- travel insurance providers; and
- any other third-party service provider involved in the Client's itinerary.
Each supplier maintains its own policies regarding reservations, payment schedules, cancellations, modifications, refunds, baggage allowances, check-in requirements, accessibility, health requirements, and other travel conditions.
By authorizing the Travel Advisor to make reservations on the Client's behalf, the Client agrees to be bound by the applicable terms and conditions of each supplier included in the itinerary.
In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the supplier's terms and conditions, the supplier's terms shall govern the provision of the travel services.
10. Deposits and Final Payment
Deposit requirements and final payment deadlines are established by the applicable travel supplier and may vary depending upon the destination, travel dates, and type of reservation.
The Client agrees to remit all required payments by the deadlines communicated by the Travel Advisor.
Failure to make payment by the required due date may result in:
- automatic cancellation of the reservation;
- forfeiture of deposits already paid;
- supplier-imposed cancellation penalties;
- increased pricing;
- loss of promotional rates or benefits; and
- complete loss of the reservation.
The Travel Advisor shall not be responsible for any losses arising from late payment or failure to comply with supplier payment deadlines.
Where permitted by the supplier, additional payment methods may be available; however, acceptance of any payment method remains subject to the policies of Fora Travel and the applicable supplier.
11. Pricing Adjustments
Certain travel components may be subject to price adjustments after a quotation has been issued but prior to confirmation of the reservation.
Price adjustments may result from, including but not limited to:
- supplier rate revisions;
- exchange rate fluctuations;
- changes in government taxes or tourism levies;
- fuel surcharges;
- airport or port charges;
- carrier-imposed fees; or
- correction of supplier pricing errors.
Should a material price increase occur prior to confirmation, the Client will be notified and may choose either to accept the revised pricing or decline the proposed reservation.
Once a reservation has been confirmed and payment accepted by the supplier, pricing is generally governed by the supplier's contractual terms.
12. Changes Requested by the Client
Requests to modify an existing reservation are subject to supplier approval and availability.
Changes may include, without limitation:
- travel dates;
- destinations;
- accommodations;
- room categories;
- transportation;
- traveler names;
- itinerary components; or
- additional services.
Modification requests may result in:
- supplier change fees;
- fare differences;
- increased accommodation costs;
- cancellation penalties;
- loss of promotional pricing;
- administrative fees charged by the supplier; and
- additional professional service fees charged by the Travel Advisor for substantial itinerary revisions.
Certain reservations, promotional rates, airline tickets, or cruise fares may be non-changeable or non-transferable.
The Travel Advisor makes no representation that requested modifications will be possible.
13. Cancellations
Cancellation of travel arrangements must be submitted in writing by the Client.
The effective date of cancellation shall be the date on which written notice is received by the Travel Advisor.
Cancellation penalties are determined exclusively by the applicable supplier and may range from partial charges to one hundred percent (100%) of the total travel cost.
The Client acknowledges that many travel products, including but not limited to airline tickets, promotional hotel rates, cruise fares, vacation packages, and certain tours, may be entirely non-refundable.
Professional planning fees paid to the Travel Advisor remain non-refundable once planning services have commenced, regardless of whether travel is ultimately booked or completed.
The Travel Advisor may charge a cancellation processing fee for handling and administering cancellation requests. This fee is separate from any cancellation fees, penalties, or non-refundable amounts imposed by the applicable travel supplier and will be communicated to the client where applicable.
The Travel Advisor is not responsible for negotiating exceptions to supplier cancellation policies or obtaining refunds beyond those authorized by the supplier.
14. Refunds
Any refund of travel costs is subject solely to the policies and approval of the applicable travel supplier.
The Travel Advisor does not control supplier refund decisions, processing times, or payment methods.
Where a supplier approves a refund, the refund will generally be issued using the original method of payment, less any applicable supplier penalties, administrative charges, or non-refundable fees.
The Travel Advisor shall not be liable for delays in refund processing caused by suppliers, financial institutions, payment processors, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
15. Travel Insurance
The Travel Advisor strongly recommends that all Clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance appropriate to the nature, destination, duration, and cost of their trip.
Travel insurance may provide protection for circumstances including, but not limited to:
- trip cancellation or interruption;
- emergency medical treatment;
- medical evacuation and repatriation;
- travel delays or missed connections;
- baggage loss, theft, or delay;
- personal liability; and
- other unforeseen travel-related expenses.
The Client is responsible for determining the level and type of insurance appropriate to their individual circumstances.
The Travel Advisor may provide information regarding available travel insurance products but does not act as the Client's insurance advisor unless expressly stated otherwise.
If the Client declines or fails to obtain travel insurance, the Client accepts responsibility for any financial loss, medical expense, cancellation penalty, interruption cost, or other expense that could otherwise have been covered by an appropriate insurance policy.
16. Passports, Visas, and Travel Documentation
The Client is solely responsible for ensuring that all travelers possess valid travel documentation required for their journey.
This includes, where applicable:
- valid passports;
- visas;
- electronic travel authorizations;
- residence permits;
- transit visas;
- vaccination or health documentation;
- customs documentation; and
- any other documentation required by the destination country, transit country, airline, cruise line, or other relevant authority.
Passport and visa requirements vary according to nationality, destination, transit points, and individual circumstances.
The Travel Advisor may provide general information regarding documentation requirements as a courtesy; however, such information does not constitute legal or immigration advice and cannot replace confirmation with the relevant government authority, embassy, consulate, or immigration service.
The Client remains solely responsible for ensuring that all required documentation is obtained and valid before departure.
The Travel Advisor shall not be responsible for denied boarding, denied entry, missed travel, additional expenses, or other losses resulting from inadequate, expired, incorrect, or missing travel documentation.
17. Health Requirements and Medical Considerations
The Client is responsible for determining whether they are medically fit and adequately prepared to undertake their planned travel.
Certain destinations may impose health-related entry requirements or recommendations, which may change before or during travel.
Clients are responsible for obtaining appropriate medical advice regarding:
- vaccinations;
- medications;
- travel-related health precautions;
- medical conditions;
- accessibility requirements; and
- any other personal health considerations relevant to their journey.
Where a Client has disclosed a medical, mobility, dietary, accessibility, or other special requirement, the Travel Advisor may communicate that request to the relevant supplier.
The Travel Advisor cannot guarantee that any particular accommodation, service, facility, or special request will be available unless expressly confirmed in writing by the applicable supplier.
18. Special Requests
The Travel Advisor will use reasonable efforts to communicate Client requests to the applicable supplier.
Special requests may include, without limitation:
- specific room locations;
- connecting or adjoining rooms;
- bedding preferences;
- dietary requirements;
- accessibility accommodations;
- mobility assistance;
- celebration arrangements;
- early check-in or late check-out; and
- other personal preferences.
Unless expressly confirmed in writing by the applicable supplier, special requests are requests only and do not constitute guaranteed components of the reservation.
The Travel Advisor shall not be responsible for a supplier's failure to honor a special request that has not been expressly guaranteed.
19. Accuracy of Client Information
The Client is responsible for providing complete and accurate information required to arrange travel.
This includes, where applicable:
- full legal names exactly as shown on travel documents;
- dates of birth;
- passport information;
- nationality;
- contact information;
- traveler preferences;
- loyalty program information;
- accessibility requirements; and
- other information reasonably required for the reservation.
The Client agrees to review all quotations, invoices, confirmations, tickets, and other travel documentation promptly upon receipt.
Any error must be reported to the Travel Advisor immediately.
The Travel Advisor shall not be responsible for costs, penalties, denied boarding, or other consequences resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or late information supplied by the Client.
20. Supplier Responsibility
The Travel Advisor acts as an intermediary and travel advisor and does not own, operate, control, or manage the third-party suppliers providing the travel services.
Each supplier remains independently responsible for the proper performance of the services it has agreed to provide.
This includes, as applicable:

- hotels and resorts;
- cruise lines;
- tour operators;
- transportation companies;
- rental car companies;
- excursion providers;

- other travel service providers.
The Travel Advisor shall not be responsible for the acts, omissions, negligence, insolvency, bankruptcy, delays, schedule changes, cancellations, overbooking, service failures, accidents, injuries, losses, damages, or other conduct of any independent supplier.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
21. Changes, Delays, and Disruptions by Suppliers
Travel schedules and arrangements may change after confirmation for reasons beyond the control of the Travel Advisor.
Such changes may include:
- flight schedule changes;
- cancellations;
- delays;
- hotel changes;
- cruise itinerary changes;
- transportation disruptions;
- changes to excursions;
- equipment changes;
- route changes; or
- other operational adjustments.
Where reasonably practicable, the Travel Advisor will communicate material changes of which we become aware.
The Travel Advisor does not guarantee that suppliers will operate according to the original itinerary and shall not be responsible for losses arising from supplier-initiated changes.
Where a supplier provides an alternative arrangement, refund, credit, compensation, or other remedy, the Client's rights shall be determined by the applicable supplier's terms and applicable law.
22. Force Majeure
Neither the Travel Advisor nor, where applicable, Fora Travel shall be liable for any failure, delay, interruption, alteration, or cancellation resulting from circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include, without limitation:

In such circumstances, the Client's rights and remedies will generally be determined by the applicable supplier's policies and applicable law.
The Travel Advisor will use reasonable efforts to assist the Client in communicating with suppliers and identifying available alternatives, subject to supplier availability and any applicable fees.
23. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Travel Advisor shall not be liable for any loss, damage, expense, delay, injury, inconvenience, or other claim arising from or relating to travel services provided by an independent third-party supplier, except to the extent such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Without limitation, the Travel Advisor shall not be responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from the acts or omissions of a travel supplier or from circumstances beyond the Travel Advisor's reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or restrict liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted under applicable law.
